FAQ
Why to join
+ Are there any costs to participate in this program?
Nope, you'll never have to pay us.
+ What are the benefits to join?
Wooglie allows you to easily publish your game on our Unity portal. You'll gain a fair percentage of Wooglies (advertisement) revenue. Wooglies revenue is divided over all the games, according to their popularity.
After submission you got no more worries about your game, we host it and keep it running.
+ How fast can I get started?
After registering you can submit your game right away, then we just need to review your submission. Your game can be live within 24 hours, this depends on our availability. Sometimes it takes just a few minutes, sometimes up to 2 days.
Game submission
+ What are the restrictions for submission?
First of all, a rejection is usually never final because we'll tell you why it was rejected and would gladly see the reason for rejection fixed.
Secondly, if we reject a game because it needs some changes we'll add it to the "In development" category.
It is hard to define our exact judging process, but a basic outline would be:
- Make sure the game is interesting enough (gameplay/graphics etc.).
- Make sure the theme is OK for us to post (No sex, racism etc.).
- Make sure the game performs well; Optimize it, add a preloader etc.
- We do not allow excessive in-game advertising.
You got no further obligations towards us after submitting your game; You are allowed and encouraged to publish your game on other platfroms (iOS etc.).
+ What should I all check before submitting my game?
- Please read the previous FAQ item about game restrictions, make sure your game does not fall under any of these restrictions.
+ What resolutions are supported?
We support any resolution in between 50 pixels width - 50 pixels height and 925 pixels width - 600 pixels height. You can use both horizontal and vertical aligned games; 640x480, 480x640, 750x100, 100x600 etc.
+ Can I update the game (.unity3d file) during/after submission?
Yes, during AND after submission you can update the game any time, both the file and textual information.
+ I want to add my game to Wooglie, but I'm afraid other site's could copy it, can I protect my game?
The Wooglie API takes care of securing your game. The Wooglie API automaticlly adds a security script to ensure no other site then Wooglie is allowd to HOST and/or LINK to your game.
Hereby we also make sure no other site is leeching our bandwith.
You don't have to worry about this issue: Simply publish your game using the Wooglie API and all is taken care of. When we review your game we double-check if the hotlinking security is present.
+ What is the "In development" game category?
This category allows developers to host their game on Wooglie, to be able to recieve feedback, while the game is still in development. Games in this category do not recieve an advertisement share to ensure the games will be developed further for a proper release on Wooglie.
Income
+ When does Wooglie pay out?
You must have earned a total of 100,00 (Hundred) Euros or more for a payout. We only pay out once a month per game developer. Also do not forget to add your paypal email address and correct personal/company details to the game developers profile page.
+ How does Wooglie pay out?
At the moment we only support Paypal to pay the game developers.
+ How can I earn money with my submitted games?
Every now and then we check our Wooglie advertisement revenue. We have a tool to automatically divide a part of this revenue over all the games. A game's unique player count is used in the calculation to fairly divide this revenue. So to gain a bigger revenue share; Create a great game and promote it's Wooglie page! This helps to improve Wooglie and benefits yourself!
Games added to the "In development" category will not recieve a advertisement share(!).
Resources for Unity3D developers
+ Do you offer resources for Unity3D developers?
Besides the service of hosting and monitizing your games (including detailed play statistics), we currently do not offer resources/tutorials via Wooglie. We do have a section on our company website with some Unity tutorials/examples, see:
